Meeting Minutes

Opening: The regular
meeting of the SET was held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
Present: Cara Hamilton, Beth Brown, Melinda Hoover,
Tim Jared, Sisireia Simmons, Margaret Burdette, Sarah Shumpert, Teresa Adkins

Brandon Rice, Laura McClain, Aida Laham
Celebrations:
- Cara shared Campus Police waited after college hours one evening for a student so their car would not be locked inside the gates.
- Tim commended two employees at Oconee Campus who prepared a meal for CNC students.
- Beth complimented the Professional Development Day sessions.
- Melinda reported Carol Findley in the Print Shop provided excellent customer service when processing her order. Carol was aware an update was necessary before completing Melinda’s request.
- Special Guests: Margaret Burdette and Sarah Shumpert. Margaret and Sarah facilitated a discussion on the definition and role of a committee at the College. Policy 1-7-1012 and Procedure 1-7-1012.1 were reviewed and applied to the Service Excellence Team Committee. The Committee Charter was also reviewed. The role of an Advocacy committee was discusses and items In Scope and Out of Scope for SET. A consensus workshop will be planned in the near future. Items to think about before the workshop: Who is SET advocating for? What is SET advocating for? What outcomes does SET want to happen?
- Holiday Party December 11th:The theme was set for the College holiday party. It is “Holidays at the Movies”. Employees will be encouraged to dress like their favorite holiday movie character. Prizes will be given for Best Costume and Most Authentic Costume. Cara will contact Marketing to create a Save-the-Date flyer to send to all employees.
